Wall Art

Wall art can refer to both simple and elaborate creations. For some people, the term may simply refer to paintings or prints used on a wall to spruce up décor. At other times, the term may be used in reference to more elaborate pieces which may involve wall surfaces to actually be carved.

When it comes to more standard wall art options, it is possible to have framed or unframed works. Generally, all prints will be framed. Paintings are also often framed, depending on the appearance of their edges. Many artists will carefully paint around the sides of a painting so that it can be displayed effectively on its own.

Wall art that actually interacts with the surface may take many forms. As mentioned, some art for the wall may be carved into the surface. It also may built in, such as with the inclusion of decorative tile during construction. Another possibility involves the mounting of sculptural elements.
